The South London Refugee Association (SLRA) is seeking a motivational leader to provide strategic direction for the charity and support to its small committed team.
You will be a forward looking director with a solid understanding of the issues faced by small charities, and experience of successfully planning for, and managing, change. You will uphold an asset based approach to community development, and be committed to working closely with staff and service-participants to ensure that needs are met and aspirations realised. You will have a solid understanding of the issues faced by refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants, and will be committed to supporting their positive inclusion.
SLRA is a front line community organisation providing advice and support to refugees, asylum seekers and recently arrived migrants who find themselves in extreme difficulty because of past trauma or because of the restrictions related to their current immigration status.
We are a small charity with wide reach which supports those who hold an aspiration of a normalised safe life here in the UK yet who face numerous obstacles in realising their dreams of settlement and security. We run a number of specialist outreach projects with refugee, asylum seeking and migrant adults, families and young people across South London.
Salary: £33,225 (including OLW) plus contributory pension (a 28 hour week may be negotiated)
